Her big break came when she landed a role on the Nickelodeon TV show Victorious in 2010. She played Cat Valentine, a young actress enrolled in an acting program. American comedy Victorious, created by Dan Schneider, debuted on March 27, 2010, and ran for four seasons on Nickelodeon before ending on February 2, 2013. The story centers on aspiring singer Tori Vega, a kid who enrolls at Hollywood Arts High School, a performing arts high school, after substituting for her elder sister Trina in a showcase and frequently finds herself in awkward situations. 

Sam & Cat, a Victorious and iCarly spin-off, debuted on Nickelodeon on June 8, 2013, with Ariana Grande reprising her Victorious character Cat Valentine and Jennette McCurdy reprising her iCarly character Sam Puckett. Before Victorious’ sudden cancellation, Grande was scheduled to continue playing the Cat on both Sam & Cat and Victorious. The show was named 2014’s Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite TV Show.

3. There was a terrorist attack at one of Ariana Grande’s concerts. 

Following an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena on May 22, 2017, an Islamist extremist suicide bomber exploded a homemade device filled with shrapnel.

Along with the assailant, 23 people died, 1,017 people were injured, and many were children. Many more people experienced psychological stress. 

Salman Ramadan Abedi was the bomber, a local guy of Libyan heritage. He was 22 years old. Police later stated that despite their early fears of a terrorist network, they now think Abedi acted primarily alone, but others were aware of his plans. Hashem Abedi, the brother of the bomber, was found guilty in March 2020 of 22 charges of murder and the attempted murder of 1,017 additional people and was given a life sentence. 

Ariana Grande held a benefit concert called the “One Love Concert” on 4th June 2017 in response to the deadly Manchester City bombing. The We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, founded by the British Red Cross and Manchester City Council, receives a portion of the concert proceeds. Through her music, Grande also made a personal contribution to the cause. The Grammy nominee re-published her Top 15 song “One Last Time” and released a cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz, with all profits going to the concert assault victims.
