Researchers have also discovered that horses display excellent memory, problem-solving, and categorization skills.

5. Horses are known for their strong fight-or-flight response.

When researchers have observed horse behavior, they have learned that horses have an in-built fight or flight response. This means that if a horse notices something that it perceive to be a threat, its first instinct is to run away, but it will choose to stay and defend itself. It’s also interesting to note that even if a horse is startled by something, the curiosity in its nature will ensure that it will stay and try to understand what that potential may be.

6. Horses use four different types of movement.

It’s interesting to note that horses have four different gaits that they use when moving. The first kind is called the four-beat walk, which involves them walking. Trotting is slightly faster than walking, and a horse can average 13 to 19 km per hour. When a horse canters, this means that the rider will hear three hoofbeats in a single stride. The fourth type of movement is a gallop, which simply means that the horse’s stride is longer and faster. Harper Beckham also like horse riding.

8. There is no technology that can replace a horse.

Although technology has evolved considerably over the years, it’s also worth noting that it has still not been able to replace a horse’s strength and the kind of work that it is able to do.
